We’re thrilled to share an exciting milestone in our journey towards educational excellence at Smart EDU. This historic occasion marks our first-ever physical gathering, where we, as an online tutoring platform, came together in person to celebrate the traditional Sinhalese and Tamil New Year, known as Avurudu JOYFEST. It was a day filled with joy, camaraderie, and a deep community spirit.
At Smart EDU, we’ve always believed in the power of education to transform lives and communities. Our commitment to innovation and excellence extends beyond the virtual classroom, and events like our Avurudu celebration are the evidence or proof of the values, principles, or beliefs that Smart EDU holds dear.
Though our students couldn’t join us physically, the presence of our dedicated tutors and administration staff made the day incredibly special. Together, we embraced the festive spirit, fostering connections and strengthening bonds within our Smart EDU family. The atmosphere was electric as we gathered at G. L. P Birds Park – Rajagiriya to mark this special occasion. Traditional rituals set the tone for the day, reminding us of the rich cultural heritage that binds us together as a community.
But Avurudu at Smart EDU was more than just a celebration of tradition, it was an opportunity to reinforce our commitment to supporting one another on our educational journey. As we mingled and exchanged warm greetings, there was a noticeable and tangible feeling of connection, inclusion, and togetherness.
Of course, no celebration is complete without delicious food, and our Avurudu feast did not disappoint. From mouth-watering sweets to savoury delights, there was something to tantalise every palate.
But perhaps the highlight of the day was the vibrant performances that showcased the diverse talents within our community. From traditional dance performances to musical recitals, each act was met with applause and admiration, highlighting the depth of talent at Smart EDU.
As the day drew to a close, there was a sense of gratitude and optimism in the air. We left the celebration feeling energised and inspired, ready to continue our mission of providing exceptional online education to students around the world.
